Last year I submitted a panel of 15 images for consideration by the distinctions body of the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF). The panel was subsequently accepted and I gained my associateship (and the right to use the letters AIPF after my name).
The panel was titled “People of the world” and the written submission to accompany the panel was:
For me, the ability to combine travel and photography gives me the best of both worlds and allows me experience the world through a lens. I try to intimately capture people’s lives and the effect life has had on them as they pass through the world.
I am particularly drawn to Asia and Asian people and this panel reflects this. I have always admired people who are able evoke an emotional response with a image and this is what I attempt to achieve through my photography. The images shown here are captured across India and Iran and for me represent the emotions and lives of the people I was privileged to meet.
